This is a snippet of a 5:45 audio mixed media installation with 8th-grade students from the project titled, "Inner Landscapes." It was part of a larger curatorial work I produced this year with 1st, 3rd, 5th,6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. The process included creating a curriculum teaching the work of local Chicago Artist @maria__gaspar as well as @clotildejimenez and @eilen.itzel.mena to share the inner thoughts or landscapes of our youth today through audio and visual work.
This was part of an exhibition titled, House Party, 2023 Curatorial statement: We boldly declare, let there be House–a local movement in the direction of celebration and unity. In the spirit of this movement, our students have created various art pieces inspired by local artists and culture shakers of our great city.
